Bedroom one
A large double room with a comfy Silentnight mattress.
Spacious, warm and full of handmade things, in the countryside on the island's southern coast. Cliff-top walks from the door, wood burners for the evenings, and a family of white mice hiding somewhere inside.

The story goes that the cottage was once where the nuns lived, beside the parish church. We bought it as a renovation project about ten years ago and it became our family home.
We've since moved away, so now it's our holiday home and we share it with guests. Because we use it ourselves it's really well equipped and feels lived-in, not staged. You'll find plenty of handmade furniture and pieces we've collected on our travels.
We love the birdsong in the garden, how peaceful it is, and winter nights in front of the wood burners. We hope you will too.

Quiet as a church mouse, by the sea.
A family of little white toy mice has moved into the cottage. They tuck themselves onto shelves, behind books and into places you won't expect. Some guests find them all on the first night. Some are still finding them on the last morning.
Five of them have sneaked onto this page too. Tap one when you spot it.
You found all five. The rest are waiting for you at the cottage.

A large double room with a comfy Silentnight mattress.

The second large double, also with a Silentnight mattress.

Handmade built-in bunks, finished with driftwood from the local beach. Memory foam toppers on both.

An extra two can sleep here, looking out over the garden. Bedding is kept in the day bed's drawers.
Every bed except the day bed and travel cot is made up ready for your arrival. All the windows have blackout blinds, which helps early sleepers.
Barbecue and dining table. A glass of wine in the sun while the children wear themselves out.
The children's play area, with a tube slide and a big nest swing.

For winter evenings, and for chilly summer ones too.
With Netflix, for binge-watching from the sofa.
Around 77 Mbps, with a dedicated workspace if you need to check in with the office.
Fully equipped, because it's the kitchen we use on our own holidays.
An antique cast-iron bath, plus a walk-in rain shower.

The cottage sits in the island's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the famous southern coastline. The coast path and the Pepperpot trail start almost on the doorstep, with cliff-top walks and views for miles.
This stretch of coast is a Dark Skies area, so on a clear night the stars are something else. A short stroll away there's a well-loved pub with good food and views down the coast. Nowhere on the island is far by car.
